MCCC Youth day
The first MCCC Youth day took place this morning at Taunton Avenue. Some fielding practice, batting and bowling skills were practiced before a mini quick cricket game afterwards.

Many thanks to Andy Allan, Steve Vickery, Ewan Cotter, Pal C, Mark Bartram Steve O'Neil and Brian Clifford for helping during the event.

Sunday Team beat Bramley by a huge margin.

Sunday team scored the first 300 of the season with Satish (80), Ryan (56) and Craig(50) chipping in the runs. Craig was playing a 20-20 game in the end scoring in as little as 20 balls. It was a stiff game, with the opposition playing it like the World Cup final, especially the 'umpiring' aspects of LBW's and wides. However, MCCC was as good as it gets and got Bramley all out for 150+.

Wickets were shared equally - Mitul (2), Khalim (2), Ryan (1), Andy (1), Satish (1), Jim (1), Tush (1) and one run-out. Lots of bowlers were used in short spells, and the results speak for themselves.

On a personal note, I will remember this innings for the 2.5 hours I had to grill it out there on a 'suprisingly' hot September day.

Thanks,

Satish Viswanathan.

Pizza after Saturdays Game at the Clubhouse
Hi All,

I hope you all have enjoyed the 2007 season. Now it's almost over the club officers debated on whether or not to have a club BBQ this year. However, it doesn't look like there will be an opportunity to do this in 2007. Moreover, as an easly arranaged alterantive we have decided to buy pizza for everyone after next Saturdays game (since both 1st and 2nd teams are playing locally) and get this delivered to the club house at Taunton avenue after the game on Saturday 15th September 2007.

Those not playing on Saturday are all welcome to join us. I expect both teams would be back at the club house by 7-7.30pm at which time i will order the pizza!

Thanks
Imran.

Sunday Team Win by 91 runs

On a typical cloudy afternoon in September, the Sunday team did well to beat Energy Exiles by 91 runs. Top performers include Imran Sayeed for his smashing 67 and Ryan Lang for his valiant 39 runs. Their partnership of 71 runs in 7 overs turned the game in MCCC's favor. Khalim chipped in with a 50 as well.

Using all 10 bowlers at our disposal was the other speciality. A very good spirit amongst the guys on the field and a lot of friendly banter went with it.

Satish Viswanathan.
P.S: For all those disheartened souls, awaiting match reports for the Sunday games, Tush is going to pen them soon with a touch of humour.
