20/20 Team take down Green Mambas

The Wed 20/20 team beat the Green Mambas in a closely fought game yesterday, winning in the last over with 1 ball to spare. However, there were a few hearts racing, some helmets donned and some underwear changed as a certian Mr Charl Langeveldt took the field as a ringer for the Green Mambas. Obviously on hearing about the devastating form of the MCCC league sidethey had drafted him in!!! The Green Mambas set a decent total of 141, thanks to Roy C's doddlies at the end of the innings. Charl kindly bowled off 3 paces with his eyes closed, but was still the pick of the bowlers... a bit like the SA team really! Kudos to Nick H that dispatched Charl back over his head for a number of 4x's.

MCCC Sunday Team beat Whalers

The worst conditions were put out. A shortened pitch marking, an over-used second pitch at Raynes Park to list a few. In spite of it all, the Sunday team managed to outplay Whalers by 4 wickets.

Tush saved the day with his batting (30 not out)- having spoilt it earlier with his bowling.

Andy A - was amongst the wickets - as usual.

MCCC Sat 1st XI v Red Cow - Lost

MCCC played a rain reduced games of 30 overs and 2 halfs. Batting first in the rain the boys stuggled with the terrible conditions ands scored 98. After a quick turnaround Red Cow came out to bat, at which stage the rain stopped, the sun came out the wicket dried out and the ball stopped moving. A close but solid batting performance got Red Cow home in the 28th over. Next time lads!!!

The long walk back to the pavillion
It was a funny old game this week for the chairman's saturday team playing at Haydons Road Rec. After starting with 9 men Kaleem Ahmad aswered our SOS and came to play for us after the earlier league match got cancelled in controversial circumstances (more details to follow). Newcomer Saad Anwar who was making his debut arrived a bit late as the Northern Line was out for the weekend. Despite a fighting performance we lost the game. Match report to follow
