In the Spirit of the Game...
We all enjoy playing and drinking for the club, but on a serious note, please be sure to keep the spirit and tradition of cricket going. The club is proud if its history of being friendly and sporting as well as having a laugh and a drink together. Sportsmanship is a key part of this and we always strive to adhere to a good code and ethic. We can be competitive without causing incident or showing poor sportsmanship.
Thanks
Has anyone seen this Man?
Last seen at the watershed wearing a pink shirt and bunny ears. We are doing a collection to bail out the rest of the boys who went missing after one to many Jaiger bombs on Sat night.
Have a great wedding Roy and congrats to you and Lindy. Lindy has a real catch judging by the picture.

MCCC Sat 1st XI vs Kingston Methodists
On a day similar to the weather in Northen Ontario, the teams decided against all common sense to play a spell of cricket. A great game was played in fantastic spirit by both teams and the difference was just a solitary run. Read all about it, hot off the press

Brian's team fell short again on Saturday against a very strong Woldingham side. Batting first the opposition made 241 off of their 40, having somehow survived the favourable bowling conditions at the start of their innings.
Morden finished on 126-8 off of their 40 overs thanks largely to the efforts of Hemant and Theo who rescued us from the very real risk of being bowled out for less than 30.
Although this was the third defeat in a row, there are definite signs of improvement from what was an understrength team. Special mentions go to the following players who recorded new personal best figures for the club Vikram Sangar (4-43), Raj Sharma (3-44), Theodore Moore (32) and Geoff Balasoglou (15 in addition to bowling beautifully).
Full match report is now online (thanks to Geoff)
We'll win next week....
Another good win by the league boys.
Match report full of incident so worth a read

Good Win against Kingston Lefthanders!!!
MCCC - Sunday team - went about a clinical performance with the bat and ball - beating Kingston Lefthanders by 159 runs.
The pitch was a 'landmine' strip and to top it, the marking was shortened for a junior game. This meant that batting was to be a very interesting challenge.
The batting package was built around Khalim who scored a boundary lit century. We ended up scoring 258 off 32 overs and declared. The opening combo of Andy Allen and Mittal Patel worked out well and they picked a handful of wickets by the 10th over.
All in all a very comprehensive win. A detailed report to come out soon.

Saturday 1st XI vs AlbamMorphics (5/05/2007 - Away)
Lost by 5 wickets
After a poor start (32/4), with the help of Matt Oliver & Jim Paine, we amassed a decent total of 185. Making early in roads in the oppos top order, and having them reeling at 0/2 of the 2nd over, you would think we were in with a shout. However, our seriously depleted bowling attack didnt have the venom to break through the top order. We dropped 5 catches which was probably the difference. However the day was not a total loss as we discovered 2 new talents, Mr Batram whom showed some excellent line and length which will undoubtedly be coming to a pitch new you! And a Mr Brown, that showed some Mark Boucher like performances behind the stumps, but more importantly getting him closer to the batsmen for sledging purposes.

Brian's XI stumbled to a second successive defeat in a feisty encounter against Battersea Ironsides. Set 219 to win, MCCC never looked like getting close and eventually were all out for 111. At point we were 30-7, so I guess reaching three figures was a success of sorts....
Special mention for David Clifford's bowling performance. Lumboo jnr took 7-30 to record the best bowling figures in 2nd team history (and presumably one of the better performances in club history)

The league boys recorded the clubs first ever league result by thumping Englefield Green by 200 odd runs. Majid the magician scoring a great centutry which was backed up by a quick fire 50 from Craig Harper and Andy "you should see me when I am angry" Allan taking 4 wickets. If anyone has seen the Cummings brothers please let us know. They were last seen camping in some wood rather than playing for the league team. As Roy was not present to drop his usual catches, the team fielded well and bowled the oppo out in 19 overs with AJ contibuting 50% of the oppos total with a devastating display of how to bowl wide during the longest over recorded by a bowler in history (yes even surpassing Cuan Browns 11 ball over). Good start boys

Bowlers BEWARE!!!
It transpires that our very own AJ has just bought a spare bat to replace the fading Open Championship that we are all so familiar with. The is a Del-Boy priced beast of a bat, a Slazenger V200 for the grand sum of 899 pence, eclipsing Cuan Brown's record of 1350p in the 2006 season on an Ebay effort. One can only imagine the carnage that is to be unleashed on the unsuspecting bowlers by a double stepping AJ and his Mighty V200.
