Membership sign up for the 2007 season is already well under way. As discussed at the AGM it was decided to ask existing members to confirm their intention to renew asap and to pay over subs fees to Majid (by bank transfer) by 14th January 2007.

This is to make fixture (and new member) planning easier for the upcoming season and also to aid cashflow as the majority of the club's expenses have to be paid up front each season.

26 members already confirmed for new season -

I Ahmad, M Bartram, C Brown, B Clifford, E Cotter, R Cummins, S Cummins, B Douglass, C Harper, S Hawkins (new member), N Hughes, A Jarrett, J Khan, A Malik, T Moore, M Rafiq, T Rebane, V Sangar (new member), S Vickery, S Viswanathan, M Tennant, T Wadhwa, J Ware, R Wainer, S Watt, D Wheeler (new member).

Departing -

R "Superstar" Capitao.

Those wishing to add their name to the "confirmed" list, please email me!

Bank details for membership payment -

Account Name : Morden Corinthians Cricket Club
Account Number : 30528269

Please put a reference on your payment, it makes life much easier for Majid!

Season's greeting and a happy new year,

A new fixture for 2007 has been confirmed with Green Mambers. I've heard about films about snakes but not cricket teams named after them. Apparently Green Mambers are of Medium Strength so we'll have to be at the top of our game.

Update from the Chairman

Saturday Captain
I am pleased to announce (sorry for the delay on this!) that Jason Ware will be Saturday 1st team for 2007. On behalf of the rest of the club I'd like to wish Jason all the best in his new role.

General Updates
Not much else to report at the moment. December is a pretty quiet time with most people getting ready for the upcoming holiday period.

Jim, as ever, is doing a sterling job with the fixtures. We hope to announce the fixture list for 2007 soon.

I am hoping to have a business meeting at the begining of February for club officers to just sort out some points of admin to keep the wheels of the club spinning round smoothly! We will be looking at what kit needs to be bought for the forthcoming year. I know many of you have expressed the need for the club to purchase of bats. I hope we can buy some bats this year from the club's funds. I would like to stress that we all need to look after the club kit as if it was our own. Quite a few times in past we've left kit lying around and it never went in the bag and got subsequently lost. We need to improve here otherwise the club will stop buying any new kit.

2007 will be an exciting year for many reasons not least being the first year we will be entering a league. I would like to re-state my commitment about going into the league. This is a tremendous achievement given our humble beginings. I have high hopes for the league team.
