Andrews Team won a nail biter today by 2 runs. The side batted first and were 41-7 before Jason "boycott"Ware and Cuan "sledge" brown put on a partnership of 97. The game came down to the last over with seveno needing 4 to win. Brian "big bird" Clifford bowled a fantastic last over to allow us to win by 2 runs. 2 Wickets and a run out. Well done boys, a mighty fine finish to the season.

Andrews Team lost a tightly contested game against a friendly energy exiles team. The game was played in a good spirit with a number of the exiles showing excellent sporting. This has been rare in the opposition of late and was much appreciated. Morden threw away an excellent start and ended up on 168 for 8 from 40. Chris Whitfield and Roy capitao leading the charge, with some good lower order support from "Big Bird" Clifford, Andrew " Skip" Jarrett and Cuan "sledge" Brown. Unfortunately the middles order decided that sitting in the pavilion as better than batting as they managed just 4 runs between 4 wickets. Azza " Bam Bam" Malik managed to get out to Grahame " You are my bunny " Pinkney. Hard luck Azza, Roy " Keen as Mustard " Capitao survived a dropped catch off of Grahame as well. The bowling was all right but the 3 dropped catches cost us nearly 100 runs and as such the match. We kept it tight but lost it in the 39th over when "Bowling is for the birds" Jarrett bowled poorly at the death and managed to kill three members of the slips with a wide delivery which went for 4 byes.

An enjoyable game but the team was gutted as we definitely gave this one away.

A New Club Record - Gerry makes Merry

G Coetzer cracked the most impressive of centuries yesterday against Bramley. It was not just another batsman crossing the three figure mark - Gerry ended up notching the highest individual batting record for MCCC. He scored 190.

Not sure if this record can be broken!! :)

Three cheers to MCCC!!!!

MCCC waited three long years to get their act together. But when it happened, it happened big. Gerry's team completely outplayed the opposition in all departments of the game. One has to appreciate the seriousness with which we played the game, ensuring that Leatherhead didnt have an iota of a chance to get back into the match.

Short Scores:

MCCC 297 in 38 overs..
LCCC 166 all out.

Match report to follow soon.

Gerry's Sunday team has been an overwhelming success this season, losing only twice. He owes us all a big party for our efforts!!! :)

Vivek's side today bade a fond farewall to South African paceman/allrounder David Lumby. He deservedly scooped bowler of the year in the 2nd team awards. He also somehow won best dressed player, despite turning up in an Everton shirt.

Big David had a day to remember with the Toffemen winning the Merseyside derby and signed off in style, his last ball was a yorker which took off stump out of the ground.

Everyone at MCCC thank David for his company this season and wish him and Deb all the best for their upcoming special delivery.

Whats happening on Sundays?!!

Its been raining wins for the sunday team in the recent past. All credit to Gerry and his men(not boys). Every match in the past few weeks has been interesting in its own way. Last week, we chased 182 and won against Energy Exiles. In most of the other matches, we batted first. I have compiled the match reports for the matches against Carshalton and Innings. Other reports to follow.

Looking forward to this weekend's game against Leatherhead - the team we havent won against - as yet!!!
