Cotter strikes..
This was an absolute classic picture of when MCCC's Ewan Cotter grabbed his first wicket of the club. The look of dismay on the batsman is absolutely priceless...

The Game versus Thorpe was cancelled as all players were on route (pitch was double booked). Lots of angry people arrived at the ground ( a good 45mins-1hr) drive. After some wheeling and dealing by Steve (sell your gran for a fiver) Vickery, the oppo and our team ended up legging it back to play in a mixed team 20/20 rather than instigating a full pitch invasion and hand to hand combat to force the other club off the pitch. The 20/20 was a close game in the end. At least we got to enjoy the sunshine. A new record was set with 5 lost balls and three broken bats.

Vivek's team cruise to an impressive 10 wicket win over Turners hill in a very one sided affair at Joseph Hood Playing fields of Martin way. This is the first time Viveks team played at this venue. The pitch and facilities were quite good although the outfield was somewhat patchy in parts.

Gerry's team won by 9 wickets over Whalers on Sunday last. MCCC were chasing a total of 160 to win and made it comfortably in the 28th over as Satish Viswanathan and Brian Douglass guided the run-chase with well composed half centuries.

Satish top scored with an unbeaten 73 while Brian made 61 n.o.

The Sunday team really played as one good cohesive unit outperforming in all three departments of the game. Match report to follow soon.

Vivek's Saturday team cruised to a 7 wicket defeat against Red Cow today. Anand Jayaram blazed his way to 27 and Steve O'Neil provided support with a classy 26 (before being dismissed by an awesome catch). Unfortunately our total of 113 was a little on the low side and Red Cow cantered home with 13 overs remaining.

This was the first fixture against Red Cow and the game was played in an excellent spirit (despite Matt Oliver's sledging), we look forward to a rematch next season!

Scorecard is here -

Andrews Sat team cruised to a 134 run win versus BKXI. Steven Cummings blazing his way to 163, supported well by Nick Hughes 58 and Roy Cummings 64 not out. The team scoring 340-4 off 40. The oppo were bowled out for 206. Keith Pilgrim picking up a hatrick, removing the last 3 batsmen.

This weekend's fixtures should prove to be interesting. Vivek's team are playing Red Cow who are based in Ham whilst Andrew Jarrets boys take on BK XI in their return match. The earlier match against BK XI was declared a 1 run loss to MCCC but there was some doubt over the scoring. Let's hope we can get 2 wins this Saturday.

After a truely shocking display in the field against Presidents XI last Saturday where an estimated 12 catches were put down - surely we cannot let this happen again?! Teams lists will be sent out shortly.

Satish and Girish discuss tactics
Vivek's team slipped to a 26 run defeat in a tightly contested game at Haydons Road today. MCCC dropped at least a dozen catches in the Presidents XI innings, the only pair of safe hands on display was Tom Rebane who took two excellent catches.

Notable mention for Imran Ahmad who completed a hattrick carried over from last week's game.

Match report and updated stats to follow tomorrow (I promise.....)

Andrews Sat team made hard work of the game today. Andrew lost the toss again, and we ended up fielding ( or dropping is more adequate). We made hard work and managed to drop 10 catches in the worst fielding display of the season. Anyway, despite the poor fielding and chasing 204 for the win we managed to get home in the 26th over with 7 down . Nick hughes denied a sublime ton by the oppo selfishly not scoring enough and Keith deciding to smash the winning runs over cover. Nick ended on 96 not out. great knock for his legions of adoring female fans on the sidelines.

Andrew's Sat Team cruised to a 7 wicket win versus Cuddington Casuals. Chasing 161 to win, we cantered home in the 25th over thanks to a great knock from the Aussie Superstar Roy Capitao.

MCCC man of the match
A fine win today for Vivek's Saturday side, in a "home" match against Kingstonians at St George's playing fields.

A mammoth second wicket stand, largely thanks to Craig's 152* (club record individual score) set Morden on their way to 282-2 in 40 overs.

Kingstonians were always struggling and MCCC defended their total comfortably (actual figures are sketchy, thanks to some "interesting" scoring by the oppo).

Match report to follow sometime on Sunday.
