The first game of the new season is tomorrow against Crossbats. The season opener is always a strange game in many respects. The winter frost has barely disappeared and we're already taking to the field. Many observers would think we are totally nuts. They wouldn't be wrong. This will be the first game we have played Crossbats at their new home venue in Deer Park. Previously, we have been given several damn good trashings at Cole Park near St. Marys, Twickenham. Being the first game we're still badly out of practice. Last seasons game was a bit of an anomaly since we bowled out Crossbats cheaply to get a 9 wicket win. However, one must not get delusions of grandeur as the record book will show in all our previous attempts we have only walked away winners on one previous game. On that occasion we went down to Cole Park fully loaded with Pistol Pete and the boys on another day which had an autumnal feel about than the beginning of cricket season. Good luck to the boys on Saturday.

2 extra nets at Kings College School have been booked for us
Saturday 22nd April 4-6pm
Saturday 29th April 4-6pm

The last scheduled net at Kings College was yesterday and it was another good turnout. The general feedback about nets has been very positive. Kings College has been a good venue change from Ewell Castle. Next year we'll try and do 2 hours of nets each session if the club finances allow and there's enough demand. There has been many new people attending nets which is encouraging. Let's hope we can convert the new interest into happy members
We are also thinking about a couple of extra nets this year for the last two Saturdays in April. Watch this space for confirmation.
The first game is next week against Crossbats. They are no longer playing at Cole Park. Andy Jarret has requsted availabilities. The skipper of the game is still to be decided with both Andy Jarret and Mark Bartram unavailable.

There hasn't been any website updates over the last couple of weeks with the webmaster being away on holiday.
Nets have proved to be a success with many new players attending. Next week is the last net although there is talk of perhaps having an additional week of nets on Saturday 15th April 2006. However, this is subject to confirmation.
The club chairman, Steve O'Neil has updated the members welcome pack. This is available in the documents area
