Jim Patel has confirmed a bank holiday away fixture against the well established Indian Gymkhanna club on May 29 2006. We will be playing their Sunday 2nd XI. Hopefully it will be a competitive game as we've never played them before.
The group mailing list is currently undergoing a clear up. Some additional names have been added in the last few weeks since the membership drive has started.
Imran Ahmad who normally looks after nets will be out of the country for 3 of the organised net sessions. We are looking for someone to co-ordinate each net session. This would involve the following
- Welcoming of new players who looking to play for MCCC in 2006 and introducing them to the rest of the team
- Ensuring a smooth switchover of batters in the nets so everyone gets a good net session
- Keeping an eye on safety and enforcing padding up is done in a safe area away
- Collection of the net fee (£3 per person)

Another fixture slot in the Saturday 2nd XI fixture list has been filled. Saturday August 12th has been given to Chertsey 4 XI. This will be another home fixture for us. During the close season it was envisaged that the MCCC Saturday 2nd XI would only get three or four home fixtures. However, it has been hard work to get so many away fixtures so the fixture secretary has been forced offer sides more home fixtures. We've played Chertsey before and had some good games against them. They tend to have some strong colts so it should a fairly competitive game for the MCCC Saturday 2nd XI which are being captained by Vivek Sarohia in 2006. The fixture list is looking interesting some lots of new fixtures. All we need now is to have a successful recruitment drive to boost the membership.

Another fixture is confirmed for the Saturday 2nd XI with an away match against Red Cow, a new side that we haven't previously played before. Red Cow are based in Ham so it's pretty local.
Our 2006 membership drive has started. Now we are running 2 teams on Saturdays we need to have more depth.

The fixtures keep chopping and changing as circumstances change. The council have informed us that pitches will not be available to us at the very end of September because of the football season starting. We had a sunday home fixture against West One CC which will need to be re-scheduled for another time in the season. As ever Jim Patel fixture secretary is on top of things.
The Saturday 2nd Team have now 2 additional home fixtures against new sides Samba and Turner Hill. Both are unknown forces but as ever we'll enjoy our cricket.
