The 2005 cricket season finishes today. The Saturday XI finished the season with a good win over Old Sevanos at home. Old Sevano's proved to be worthy opponents. MCCC's batting was well re-inforced by the tail taking us to 190 all out off 40 overs.

Another good victory for the Saturday team against old rivals, Energy Exiles, at home. MCCC bowled well to restrict Exiles to 109 all out with Brian Clifford taking 4-30 and Mark Bartram notching up another fifty. Some sharp catching led to an Energy Exiles collapse after they started off postively at 40 without loss off 11 overs. Things went a bit pear shaped for them after that.

The weekend was a damp one with Sundays game being called off. The Saturday team overpowered a below strength Chessington side that had to be loaned two MCCC players. In a one-sided affair MCCC were set only 66 to win. MCCC cruised to a comfortable 7 wicket win.

We're into the last few games of the 2005 season. This Saturdays games were supposed to be against Morden Parish and Old Cats. Morden Parish couldn't get a side out as there football season had started whilst Old Cats failed to communicate the fixture confirmation. A decision was taken that we'd only play the home game against old Ruts at Taunton Avenue. We were also struggling for 22 players with only 18 confirms at the end of the week.
