With the club AGM coming up in October, Steve O'Neil is collating issues and agenda points. We're hoping to keep the AGM relatively structured with an agenda distributed prior to the meeting. This will allow the important agenda points to be discussed without the meeting being sidetracked which has happened from past experience!

The end of the 2004 cricket season is almost upon us with only a couple of weekends to go. This cricket season has gone incredibly quickly and it's been another successful year for the club. The AGM is due a couple of weeks after the season is completed. The exact location and time will be confirmed in due course but it will be close to our home ground near Taunton Avnue in Raynes Park.

Feeling hot, hot, hot
Sizzling, mouth-watering and tantalisingly tasty char-grilled favourites, fun and games for the family, laced with music from jazz to salsa and soca, brought a carnival atmosphere to the inaugural Morden Corinthians barbecue.
Our man with the pinnie and tongs, was barbecue guru, Keith Pilgrim, who ensured that an excellent spread was on offer, even catering for Halal and vegetarian dietary requirements. The kids headed for the swimming pool, while the adults headed for the bar in the Greenacres sports centre, Warlingham.
On a slightly breezy August Bank Holiday Monday, the cooking got underway at 2pm and the final piece of chicken came off the griddle seven hours later, with a break earlier in the day as everyone took to the field for mixed team championship rounders. Charlie’s Angels Lager Louts squared up against Brian’s Blaggers Drunkards. After several appeals, recounts, steward inquires, the official scorers declared CALLs the winners; the BBDs got on with the more serious business of ordering another round.
Thankfully, the weather held out and even finished with blue sky and sunshine. With players’ families and friends making up the 40-strong turn out, it was a fantastically fun day, thoroughly enjoyed by all. Plans are already afoot for next year’s do.
