Saturday Side win comfortably against Old Manhattans.

Saturday match news
The weather looks good for tomorrow although a bit colder than last week. We had rain earlier today but after a week of sun the wicket should be dryer than wickets earlier in the season. Making his Saturday Debut is Abdul Hussain who has played on Sundays before, opening the batting. We look forward to him playing on saturday. The team overall is strong (by our standards!!!) but no Vic Luis top open the attack. In the last couple of years he's developed into a valuable player. Jess Sharling and Mark Bartram come in to the side.

MCCC win featured on Guardian Website Keep a look out for our team photo in the local papers in the next couple of weeks.

Saturday's game against Old Manhattans should be a close one. We've played them twice before resulting with a draw and more recently a loss. Last year's loss against them was down to poor batting from us. Morover, Saturday's game will be competitive, such we need to take all our chances which we failed to do last year. The Manhattans had a good pace bowler from either Zimbabwe or South Africa who caused us a few problems. The first change bowler got more more wickets than he should with his slow and steady line. This is where we flushed the game down the toilet.

The Manhattans batting line up wobbled chasing a low total. Graham Pinkey hasn't bowled his 'droosra' yet so let's see if he uses it on Saturday. Last weeks performance against Morden Parish was a very solid. From a batting point of view we need to push more singles and keep the runs ticking over. Morden Parish bowled a tight line putting pressure on us which made us loose wickets at regular intervals.

Season 2004 Photos now available

Saturday team win against local boys Morden Parish. Next weeks game is against Old Manhattan's which will be a harder game. Last years game resulted in an MCCC loss after a poor batting peformance from us.

Friday, May 14, 2004

Well, the weather is looking good for the weekend. Both Saturday and Sunday could go upto 24c - the hottest weekend of the year so far! Watch out for match photos to be posted next week.

Thursday, May 13, 2004

This weekends games are an interesting pair. On Saturday we play Morden Parish in Cheam and on Satuday we take on Broadbridge Heath. Both MCCC teams have a strong line up available.

Murali Krishna is making his MCCC debut this saturday against Morden Parish. Statiscally we've done well against Morden Parish. Andy Fletcher skippered us to victory last year. We bowled them out fairly cheaply but wobbled when it came to chase. Luckily we got the runs but we need to be careful to take our chances. Majid Rafiq is looking to score some runs after a slow start in 2004 partially. His bowling still looks a treat.

Sundays MCCC team has Johno Petit coming in. With Hienrik and Leon also playing it should be a competitive match. Steve Herat batted well in his last outing to score 41 against Barnes Occasionals. Hopefully Ali can build upon last years improvement this year.

Let's hope the weather holds up this weekend!

Saturdays game against Old Cats is off. Next Saturday's game is against local boys Morden Parish.

Thursday, May 06, 2004

The weather is looking a bit dodgy for this weekend. Are we going to get a game?

2 days to go before the weekend and let's hope the weather holds up this weekend. The 5 day forecast says it should be dry. The Saturday Team are playing Old Cats this weekend. This could be a good chance for our first win. We've dominated games against Old Cats in the past but because of a stop start season so far we haven't had a chance to get back into winning ways.

Saturday, May 01, 2004

Well another washout for the Saturday team against Traveux. It's been a frustrating start to the 2004 season. Let's hope the weather improves for May. However some good News, MCCC beats Richmond Teachers on Richmond green by 9 runs.
