Update from the Chairman...

2008 has started in earnest. I cannot believe nets are begining next week!! Where has the time gone? In the last two weeks I have been spending some of my time trying to finalise the new club shirt order. We've had a lot interest from the membership with 50+ shirts ordered so far. Quite a few people are buying two shirts. The shirts, which are of county standard, will feature the club logo and our sponors logo (The Star of India Restuarant Cheam). There is still some work to do on getting one of the logos in a state that it can be used on the shirt and we hope to get that resovled this week. I will be sending out an email to everyone about payment of the shirts. We have set the price of the shirt to be £15. We hope to have the shirts by the 3rd or 4th week of nets. Shirts will only be given out upon payment. Majid advised me today that there we still some outstanding payments for caps from last year!!

I'm happy to see that most people have renewed their membership and I'd like to thank everyone who has done so thus far. This makes it a lot easier for us as a club to see what our likely membership numbers will be and thus how many people we need to go out and recruit. Last year there were several occasions where we really struggled for players making it hard work for the captains to get a full team out. We even had one occasion where a match had to be cancelled because we couldn't get a team out! I don't want to see this happening in 2008 so hence I the push to get everyones membership in so we could see where we are in terms of numbers.
